Details

The Gangotri Trek is a scenic journey through the Garhwal Himalayas, leading to the source of the Ganges River. Starting at Gangotri, it passes lush forests, alpine meadows, and glacier views. Highlights include the holy Gangotri Temple and Gaumukh Glacier. It’s a spiritual and adventurous experience for nature lovers and trekkers alike.

Our journey commences from Haridwar and proceeds to Uttarkashi, one of the beautiful towns lying between the two rivers, Varuna and Ashi. Uttarkashi itself is known for its serenity and spirituality. Upon arrival to this place, we visit the famous and sacred Vishwanath Temple in the region, speaking volumes of Lord Shiva. Other than the temple, we shall also visit other places of interest that reveal the town's cultural and religious background. We would retire to the hotel for a good night's sleep after finishing the sightseeing, followed by dinner.
In the morning, after a good breakfast, we drive to Gangotri. Located at a distance of 99 kilometers from Uttarkashi on National Highway 34, Gangotri is one of the most significant Hindu pilgrim sites. This holy town is nearly on the banks of the river Bhagirathi, which is considered the origin of the holy river Ganges. We will first offer our prayers and pay respects in the temple before experiencing the spiritual surroundings in Gangotri. Afterwards, having completed darshan, we shall have some time to ourselves to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of that beautiful place, followed by a drive back to Uttarkashi. Returning to Uttarkashi, we check into the hotel for an overnight stay, relaxing after the day's spiritual journey.
We will go back to Haridwar after breakfast and, en route, will have a stop at the famous Tehri Dam. The Tehri Dam—a multi-hybrid rock and earth-fill embankment dam in the Bhagirathi River, near Tehri, Uttarakhand—is the highest dam in India and one of the highest in the world. After viewing this feat of engineering and enjoying its importance, we move further ahead to Rishikesh. We visit the long suspension bridges, like the Ram Jhula, standing for "Lord Ram," and the Laxman Jhula, standing for Ram's brother Laxman, with their views of the Ganges River. Then, we will drop you off at the railway station or airport where you have to go.
